README for CALIST01.txt Maxwell L Rudolph rudolph@berkeley.edu This data was collected at Calistoga Geyser on 05/06/2010 Temperature and Conductivity were logged using a YSI 600 XLM multiparameter water quality sonde. The sonde was placed in the geyser pool immediately adjacent to the outflow chanel, with the probe tip at the shallowest depth possible that kept it submerged. Data was collected once per second. The time stamp for each data point comes from the YSI probe's internal clock. The clock was synchronized with my laptop's clock immediately before deployment. I estimate that it is correct to within 1 second. The laptop had been synchronized with a NIST time server at 6 AM on 5/6/2010. I also logged conductivity. The conductivity probe was not calibrated on 5/6/2010 because this data was not expected to be useful. The YSI probe is very linear, which means that this data set is still useful if you are interested in relative changes in conductivity.
