USGS Earthquake Science Center (GM) & US Geological Survey Networks (GS)
USGS Earthquake Science Center (GM)
From the FDSN: This network code covers deployments of seismic instrumentation by the USGS Earthquake Science Center. Deployments may be for seismic experiments, for temporary deployments, or for monitoring aftershocks throughout the United States. Instrumentation includes broadband and strong motion sensors.
- GM Information Directory,
including list of station locations, list of available channels (yy/mm/dd and yyyy.doy
formats), and instrument response (SEED and simplified format).
US Geological Survey Networks (GS)
From the FDSN: Operated by Albuquerque Seismological Laboratory (ASL)
- GS Information Directory, including list of station locations, list of available channels (yy/mm/dd and yyyy.doy formats), and instrument response (SEED and simplified format).
National Strong Motion Program/Project, NSMP (NP)
The NSMP network operates strong motion sensors at over 700 stations throughout the US and Carribean for the purpose of recording damaging earthquakes. The NCEDC archives continuous waveform data from a handful of these stations, and event data for events in northern and central California.
- NP Information Directory,
including list of station locations, list of available channels (yy/mm/dd and yyyy.doy
formats), and instrument response (SEED and simplified format).
Data access
Several tools provide access to SEED format data at the NCEDC, both in terms of querying the archives and allowing data requests:
- Querying the archives
- Access data through NCEDC web services
