EVT_FAST, NETDC & STP services to be retired (December 2017)

The NCEDC offers a number of web services that provide improved functionality formerly served by the EVT_FAST, NETDC & STP systems. The NCEDC will shut down the following services on December 31, 2017:
NetDC: The NetDC project was initiated almost 20 years ago and enabled users to access distributed
data from "Networked Data Centers". As of today, all data centers, including IRIS have retired
their NetDC system. Similar capabilities are available for:- Inventory: by SeismiQuery (http://ncedc.org/SeismiQuery)
- Response: by the NCEDC RESP Web Service (http://service.ncedc.org/ncedcws/resp/1/)
- Waveform: by the FDSN DataSelect Web Service (http://service.ncedc.org/fdsnws/dataselect/1/)
- EVT_FAST: EVT_FAST was initially developed as an interim tool for accessing NCSS Event data. It was later
enhanced to also include the EGS data. The same features are now provided by our NCEDC EventData
Web Service (http://service.ncedc.org/ncedcws/eventdata/1/). - STP: STP (Seismic Transfer Program) is a client-server system that provides time-series data. Users can run
a command-line STP client program to retrieve either continuous or event data. The NCEDC now offers
command-line scripts such as FetchData or FetchEventData that work in conjunction with our FDSN DataSelect
and NCEDC EventData Web Services to access continuous and event time-series. Those scripts are available at
http://ncedc.org/pub/ws-fetch-scripts/
The FDSN-compatible and NCEDC web services are available at:
http://service.ncedc.org
Please note that our email based BREQ_FAST system will still remain in service.
Please contact the NCEDC at ncedcinfo@ncedc.org if you have any questions.
