Luna
B. Leopold is Professor Emeritus of the Department of Earth &
Planetary Science at the University of California, Berkeley. After
receiving
his Ph.D in Geology from Harvard
University, he joined the U.S.Geological
Survey where as Chief Hydrologist, he transformed the Water
Resources Division from a data agency to one of the most respected

morphology. And a report that he wrote in 1969 has been credited
with saving the
Florida Everglades from destruction and served as the model for
subsequent environmental impact statements.
