Her main interests are deep earth structure and dynamics: seismic tomography, waveform modelling as pertaining to the determination of deep mantle, core mantle boundary and core structure. Wave propagation in heterogeneous media. Earthquake processes and scaling laws, real time estimation of earthquake parameters. Development of modern seismic and geophysical observatories on land and on the ocean floor.

She graduated from Ecole Normale Superieure in
Paris, France
and the Universite Paris 6 (where I only did part of my degree). She earned Master of Science in Applied Physics from Harvard University and Doctorat de 3e cycle in Astronomy, Université Paris 6 and Doctorat d'Etat, Université Paris 7, Spécialité Géophysique.

She is also a fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Science and the American Geophysical Union.
